June is a month with so much to celebrate, and I am happy to have witnessed the wonderful growth that has been demonstrated collectively and collaboratively as a learning community.Our Grade 3 and Grade 6 students have completed the provincial EQAO assessments, and we are very proud of their efforts and determination. The results of these assessments will be shared with schools and families in the fall.A reminder of some important upcoming transitions and celebrations and athletic opportunities taking place in June:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">Welcome to Kindergarten – We look forward to welcoming our newest learners and their families on June 9th as they begin their journey at Centreville Public School. Staff are preparing to create a warm, caring, and inclusive introduction to school life.</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Grade 8 Graduation – Our graduating students are preparing to celebrate this important milestone on June 18th. We are proud of their growth and leadership within our school community and look forward to recognizing their accomplishments.</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Regional Track and Field events will take place on June 2nd, and students are demonstrating determination and enthusiasm as they train and practice.</li></ul>Don't forget our annual Centreville Fun Fair is just around the corner. This fun evening is thanks to our hard-working SAC members who are committed to improving Centreville school through funds generated by this fun event. Mark your calendars for June 12th!The week of May 31st to June 6th is AccessAbility Week where our school community comes together to recognize and celebrate the many ways people learn, move, communicate, and experience the world around them. AccessAbility Week is an opportunity to build awareness, empathy, and understanding, while continuing to create a school where everyone feels valued, included, and supported. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by talking about kindness, respect, and the importance of creating spaces where everyone can succeed.June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. It's a time to honour the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada. June also is the month the world celebrates Pride Month, recognizing the 2SLGBTQ+ community and acknowledging the social justice work that still needs to be done. The instructional day will run from 9:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include three 100-minute learning blocks, supported by two 40-minute nutrition and outdoor breaks. LDSB is committed to building positive school cultures that support student achievement and wellness. The Exemption from Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction, Grades 1 to 8 Procedure (the “Procedure”) was developed in response to the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM) No. 162 which requires school boards to develop a procedure that allows for students to be exempted, at the request of their parents/guardians, from instruction related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations found in Strand D of the Ontario Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, Grades 1-8, 2019 (the “Curriculum”). <h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
